Physics Quantum Notions

Classical Notions

By Classical Notions, I mean the common ideas of what is called classical physics, which by now includes relativity and some other things which were decidedly not classical at the dawn of the Twentieth century. Most of these notions are philosophical in nature.

One of these notions is very simply that reality exists. Something is out there. This is not obvious philosophically. We get to it by dismissing the alternative, which is that only one's own mind exists. We dismiss this alternative because it is no fun, but there is no sound reasoning that requires it. And we cannot truly escape it. However we think about, perceive, or think we know about the something that we agree to believe is out there, we have to think, perceive, and know with our minds.
